Stanchester Quire

The David Hall, Roundwell St. South Petherton

The Stanchester Quire, the community quire with a difference, will be starting afresh on a different evening, Mondays, at the the superbly spacious David Hall.
We will be learning Christmas carols and songs, all of which have either been collected from, or written about, the South West of England, with a view to performing them at a series of concerts in December.
New members are always very welcome and the ability to read music is not essential as we learn everything by ear.
So why not come along and try the first couple of weeks free? Singing in a quire is good for the soul!

Sundays

Barley Rye Choir

Ring O'Bells, St Mary's Grove, Nailsea

Barley Rye Choir was formed in 2000 as a millennium project of Nailsea Folk Club. The idea was to offer supporters of the club an opportunity to express themselves. In the intervening years, the choir has developed into a supportive group that also makes regular performances.

Barley Rye is a community choir - we do not audition, and there is no requirement to be able to read music. We learn songs mostly by ear - both together in practice sessions, or at home, from sound files that we distribute to the group.
